Pastor Todd Rempe started serving our church in July of 2009. Before that he served as the pastor of Wellsburg Reformed Church in Wellsburg, Ia from September 2002 to June 2009. From the fall of 2000 through June 2002 he served as the youth pastor of Gun Lake Community Church in Wayland, Mi., and also served as the youth pastor of First Baptist Church in Pella, Ia from 1994-1998.
Pastor Todd graduated from Central College in Pella in 1991, from The University of Iowa in 1994 with a Masters Degree in Secondary Social Studies Education and Curriculum Development, and from Western Theological Seminary in 2001 with a Masters of Divinity. He was born in Pella, Ia in 1968 and was raised on a dairy farm a couple of miles west of Leighton, Ia.
He married Angela Dieleman on September 30, 1995. They have three children; Anna who was born in July of 1996, Isaac who was born in August of 1997, and Christian who was born in Guatemala in September of 2006 and who came home in November of 2007 after a long adoption process.
Outside of church, he is involved in a family farming operation with his two brothers, farming his home land. He enjoys fishing of all kinds but takes special delight in fly-fishing.
Some of his favorite passages of scripture are:
Ephesians 4:11-16 because of the way Paul clarifies the goal of pastoral ministry.
John 3:30 because of what this says about the goal of life- that Christ be exalted in and through us.
Lamentations 3:19-24 because of how this bears witness to the reality of God’s grace and mercy in even the toughest times.
