Bethany 101

Bethany 101 is a journey to what we call church ownership. We believe that we all have a role, and we want to empower you to take an impactful role in God’s work in the church.

Bethany 101 is an opportunity to get to know our pastor, our beliefs, and our mission. We want to share with you what makes Bethany unique, and get you plugged into our community of faith. We believe our church is more than a building, but is made up of the people inside of it, and that means we all play a vital role.

Bethany 101 Process

We break down who we are, what we are about, and how to partner with us in a few sessions.

Step 1) The first of is done in person around a cup of coffee with our pastor and an elder and just getting to know who you are. This is a great a great time to ask questions about what we believe, what is our mission, and what God is doing at Bethany Church. If you are just getting to know us, this is a great place to start.

Step 2) If you are considering membership or diving in more deeply with Bethany Church, we would give you a short book, tiny book, speed read book. Did I mention it was a short book? We would ask you to read it and write down any more questions you may have for us as a church and questions about membership. The pastor and an elder would meet with you again to get to know you more and answer any the questions you have.

Step 3) The next step in our membership process would be to take the spiritual gift assessment below and look at the results and share them with the pastor. Either in person, over the phone, zoom, or some method of communication, we would see how you felt about the assessment and talk about how God has gifted you. This helps us be able to recommend places to serve and use your gifts for God’s glory.

Step 4) At the end of the three meetings, we will discuss if you would like to be baptized if you haven’t yet, and talk about getting plugged into our faith community through membership. Finally, we would ask you to introduce yourself to some members of our leadership team so they can answer any questions you may have, let you know more about various ministries at the church, and pray for you as well.

You do not need to be a member to be welcomed and loved by our church family. Church membership is for those who want to dive into the mission God has given us and want to partner with what God is doing through us. It’s not a country club membership, but one where we are invested in each other in love, unity, and service.
