Worship Director

Bethany Church is committed to loving our community, no strings attached. This Worship Director role will oversee all aspects of Sunday morning and work in partnership with the Lead Pastor to build a worship experience that brings people closer in their relationship with God.

Responsibilities:

  • Adapt a welcoming system that is able to identify and plug newcomers into Bethany.

  • Develop pathways for students and families to serve our congregation, city, and world.

  • Lead in worship, lead rehearsals, and be an welcoming presence on Sunday morning

  • Inspire, engage, and shepherd the congregation by leading the worship music in God-honoring, creative and meaningful ways

  • Recruit, develop and train worship team members to fully utilize their giftedness, developing a sense of community and mutual support among the members.

  • Practice and prepare music for Sunday morning worship service 

  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Pastor to fulfill the church’s vision and mission

  • Participate in vision development and evaluation of the worship ministry 

  • Arrange for special musical pieces when appropriate 

  • Work with the audio/visual team to advance our in-person and on-line presence

Administrative Duties

  • Recruit and help schedule Sunday morning volunteers

  • Send reminders to those serving that week

  • Other duties as negotiated based on skills

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Stable, mature, growing disciple of Jesus Christ, committed to the values of Bethany Church

  • Focus on spreading the gospel through in-person and on-line worship. Exhibit a spirit of joy and faithfulness

  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to deal with a variety of people in different situations.

  • Skilled musician and singer with guitar/keyboard skills. Ability to coach and grow the worship team

  • “Stage Presence” - ability to connect to the congregation during songs and lead-ins to worship songs. Brings energy and passion to worship

  • Be adaptable, have gospel agility, and be proactive

  • Experience with volunteer teams and maximizing their contributions and gifts

  • Experience with Praise Charts, MultiTracks, Coresound sound pads, presentation softwares, or similar programs (desired and will train the right candidate)

This position is a salaried, part time, staff position and will average 25 hours a week for the  year. We will be flexible for the right person.

Compensation based on experience

Vacation Time includes 4 weeks
